A journal documenting the trials and tribulations of gardening on the rocky coast of Downeast Maine. My attempt at keeping in touch with my many friends and loved ones who live all across the nation.

No Moose Trip
Although the trip up country was beautiful with all the fall colors, we did not see a moose! Oh well, maybe next time.
I did, however, spend the rest of the weekend busy as a bumble bee, getting most of the pots dumped out, making a soup out of the turkey carcass I had thrown into the freezer and cooking down another batch of apple butter. Here's my "Tower of Apple Butter".
Oh, darn. I thought I'd see a moose today! At least you accomplished a lot of other things. Are you getting warm weather today like we are in MI? It was 75 today. I missed most of it since I was working until close to 4.
I don't think the warm weather is going to reach us as there is a cold front heading in from Canada. Looks like we may get our first frost on Friday morning!
Hope the frost misses you, but you know it's time. I have not been hit yet either.
By the way, I have not seen that Lone Star quilt top yet.....I am going to keep bugging you until you pull it out and finish it. :) You know you will feel so good when it's done!
Gardening and knitting fanatic! I love digging in the dirt (what little I have of it!) My zone 5 garden is located on 2 1/2 heavily wooded, rocky acres on the coast of Downeast Maine and is shared by Hubby and our two cats, Spike and Sluggo. When unable to garden, I love to knit, cook, pursue my photograpy, bake and read numerous other blogs.
