Here We Go Again

We have another snow storm on the way and as I sit here blogging it is just beginning to spit snowflakes and the wind is picking up. The forecasters can't seem to make up their minds about how much snow we'll get or if it will indeed turn to sleet, ice or perhaps mixing later on. The last we heard, it was to be 4 - 8 inches of snow with 1/2 inch or less of ice. We shall see. As H says, "We'll get what we get when we get it". In the interim, we are stoking the wood stove and hunkering down til it's time to go out and shovel.

The cats and I are looking out the office windows and there are two huge crows sitting on a branch just outside. Spike and Sluggo are transfixed! Their tails are slowly twitching, their bodies tensing, ready to strike, if only they had the opportunity. Alas, such are only the dreams of house kitties.

It's going to be a long winter with lots of snow, and I can't imagine just posting pictures of snow. Therefore, I think I'll post a summer/winter picture to remind myself that spring will arrive in due time.
Here's my fence planter last July.

And here it is just last week. That huge pile of snow is hiding it. I'm only 5 ft tall, so you can see how big the pile is. If we get the expected amount of snow today, it will be taller than me.

Maine is not for the faint of heart!

H is making pizza today, so the house will be redolent with the aromas of freshly baked pizza dough, herbs and spicy sauce. As for me, I may not even get out of my jammies today!

Hi Giddy,
It's 3:24 pm and I am still in my jammies. I just took a shower and put jammies back on. No sense getting dressed now.

I have not been lounging around though....far from it. This is only the second time I've sat down today.

Your snow looks a lot like ours. I woke up to about 6 inches of new snow and I think more is on the way.

We are just about the same height...I am just shy of 5'1".

Homemade pizza during a snowstorm sounds delightful! I am really enjoying snowstorms this year. I wish my husband could cook like that! He has many wonderful attributes, but cooking is not one of them.

Your weather forecast sounds the same as ours...they can't make up their minds. The predictions yesterday were for up to a foot of snow, after the sleet and ice. We had some snowfall, but it may be mostly over. Still a bit of light snow as I write this. There's nothing like a foot out there, so unless we get lots more overnight it looks like we've skated!
Our kitties do the same thing and today Jasmine was throwing herself at the door. You'd think it would hurt and she'd stop after the first time...but no :)
I was thinking of posting flower pics too, but have been too busy to post. Thank you for the summer color!!
Mmmm, pizza on a snowy day...sounds delicious. Wish my hubby had the cooking gene :)

I hope you aren't snowed in. I don't blame you for posting a summer picture to go along with all the snow. The color is a sight for snow blinded eyes.

A friend of mine is snowbound in Rockport, MA. She was to start her drive back to Indiana today. Ha... They didn't get out of the driveway.

Take care and stay warm.

We got 8 or 9 inches this last storm. I didn't think it would ever stop! Not that much freezing rain, thank goodness.

I didn't take photos this time, either. Guess I was too busy shoveling!
